Canazei, located in the heart of the Dolomites, is the highest municipality in the Val di Fassa, at an altitude of 1,465 metres in eastern Trentino. The town borders the Veneto region through the Fedaia and Pordoi Passes, and South Tyrol through the Sella Pass. This mountainous area offers spectacular views of famous peaks such as Sass Pordoi, Torri del Sella and Sassolungo. The Gran Vernel towers over the village in all its grandeur, and behind it, hides the majestic Marmolada, known as the Queen of the Dolomites.
In summer, Canazei offers an extraordinary variety of mountain scents and colours that you will treasure for a long time. The walks and hikes at high altitude are numerous, revealing stunning views. The lifts enable even those who are not particularly fit to reach the summit, allowing them to admire the scenery from above. Along the way, Alpine refuges welcome visitors with typical Ladin cuisine. For cycling enthusiasts, mountain roads, both paved and unpaved, offer great enjoyment. In addition to these activities, Canazei offers many other opportunities to spend a fun, enjoyable holiday with family or friends. The playground is the ideal place for smaller children, while the more adventurous can try out climbing or thrill themselves with paragliding.
In winter, Canazei becomes a magical world of snow and winter sports. The slopes and lifts delight skiers and snowboarders. The Dolomiti Superski offers a unique experience with 1,200 kilometres of slopes and thrilling views. Fans of cross-country skiing will also find well-prepared trails surrounded by an incomparable mountain landscape. Ski mountaineering enthusiasts can explore the unspoilt, silent wilderness away from the crowds and stress, while snowshoes make it easy to take truly immersive walks in the forest. To round off the day, the après-ski offer moments of refreshment and fun, where young and old alike gather to recount the day’s adventures.
